Cadence: Building a Signature Impact Initiative for Climate Change

Case Study

The Assignment
Cadence Design Systems wanted to create a signature impact initiative for their Cadence Giving Foundation (CGF) around climate and sustainability.

The Process

  • Industry and impact landscape reports, case study research

  • Iteration rounds, presenting initiative proposals and facilitating feedback

  • Product-team partnership to best leverage Cadence tech and expertise

  • Nonprofit partner research; kickoff with Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)

The Outcome

A multi-year partnership with CHAI for CGF’s signature climate initiative will address impacts of climate change through the market shaping of next-generation, low-emission A/C units to ensure the proliferation of affordable, clean cooling technology in the global South.

The Results

  • Leveraging Cadence Tech: Cadence will provide access to the Cadence® Fidelity™ Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology.

  • Broader Collaboration: CHAI and Cadence will work with a coalition to tackle the market failures preventing next-gen cooling devices from reaching the people who need them.
