Google Nest: Strengthening the Energy Impact Program

The Assignment
Google Nest approached Platypus Advisors to review and validate their Energy Impact Program (EIP) then provide recommendations and a roadmap to optimize and strengthen it, in partnership with the Tides Foundation.

The Outcome
Google Nest strengthened its Energy Impact Program, and the EIP made a major impact while driving clean energy programs across the country that centered equity and community. For example, it helped fund nonprofit partner Elevate’s clean-energy upgrade project at a 44-unit affordable housing complex in Chicago.

The Results

• Effecting Real-World Change: Platypus Advisors and the Tides Foundation spoke to climate justice leaders about the impact they’ve made with the EIP. 

• Communications: Google Nest produced a video promoting the EIP and how it works.
