Simon is a social impact strategist with nearly two decades of experience supporting nonprofits and foundations in the U.S. and overseas. He has played a number of different roles in the social sector spanning direct service, research, evaluation and impact assessment, management consulting, and thought leadership.
He worked for more than eight years with The Bridgespan Group, the social impact affiliate of Bain & Co. Throughout his career, he has supported 40+ nonprofits, philanthropies, and social impact teams at critical inflection points. Corporate clients have included a financial services company launching a new racial equity philanthropic strategy, a global retailer revising its corporate philanthropy operating model, and a technology company leveraging artificial intelligence to improve nonprofit programs and operations.
With his doctoral training in applied social sciences, Simon is well-versed in an array of quantitative and qualitative research skills. He has also published thought leadership pieces in leading media outlets (e.g., SSIR, Chronicle of Philanthropy) to promote learning and enhance practices across the social sector.
Simon received his B.A. from Pomona College and Ph.D. in Sociology from UC Berkeley, where he also worked with the Haas Center for Responsible Business.
